using a foxpro

I 'm trying a foxpro for the first time and was wondering do you guys let it play during the whole set or do you turn it off and on during the set.

Thanks

I do the opposite,I usually play it as if i were blowing a mouth call.My series may be a little longer but not much.

I've tried it both ways and the best I can figure it out is on cats just let it play and use a good motion decoy. On yotes I've found it to work best calling in sequences just like you would on a hand call. As a matter of fact it seems the yotes come in while it's in the silence mode. Just my oppinion. Brad

Just turn it on and let it play, if the animal is interested, it's coming in so why mess with it?
I've seen coyotes turn and run when someone plays with the sound. Keep things simple, don't go overboard.
I see you're from NM, so you are hunting the same kind of country I am...........Good luck

I keep it running, but I'll play with the volume as it is going. Very seldom do I mute it for any reason until I have an animal coming in..

I use call sequences and I actually change sounds with pauses in between. I've watched them hold up when I've just let it play. Pausing and changing sounds has drawn them out the the standoff.

I've had fantastic success doing this.

I've seen and done it both ways,,,,either will work,,,might just depend on that perticular animal as to what he likes, and if he WANTS to come to you or not, if he wants to come on in then I don't believe it matters which way you play it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

But you'll never know until you try to yourself!!!!
