Vais muzzle brakes?

Yes, I have one on my 220 Swift. Installed by Mr George Vais himself. Let me tell you- it works. I love seeing the bullets hit. I want to see praire dogs getting blown into atoms when they are hit. A 1000 yard match shooter told me about them and he wasnt lying. It good looking too even. I very much recommend them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I recommend Vias brakes and have installed a ton of them on 1000 yard light guns. They work and are loud. The louder the brake is the better it works.

I have two of them. One on my 13 year old son's .308 and one on my .300 win mag. They are great for the shooter but your hunting partners will hate you for it.

Yeah, forgot to mention that. It, ah....noisy. I wear plugs AND muffs when shooting at a covered range. I also warn those around me that it is loud. In the field I only need to wear muff or plugs. Still loud though.

Thanks to all for the replies and comments. This is the brake I plan to use for my next project you helped confirm it. My 257 AI sports a muzzle brake, (not Vais) never gave it much thought while hunting coyotes…. Than I shot at one…my ears rang for 6 hours – missed the coyote. I won’t fire it without muffs on the range or in the field.

Tks agn..

I had a Vais on a Sako 75 270 WSM Finn light and they are just too loud for me...It made the gun recoil like a 243 but the noise made my insides vibrate.
