Does an amadillo count? If so, I scored yesterday. Since Jan 1 I can't hit a coyote or bobcat, but did kill an armadillo digging in my garden yesterday. Not the first with the 223, but WOW it tears them up.

Yep I'd say they count as a varmint.I dont see them very often but I always shoot them when I do.The last one I shot was with a .204........maybe a .22 mag pistol I can't remember.The one I shot with the .204 probably looked somethin like the one you shot with the .223 though I'm guessin.It was'nt in very good shape I can tell ya that much.
The only things I've been seeing here lately are skunks.Those things are everywhere it seems like.I've seen 9 of them this week so far.
 
I saw 1 more skunk yesterday.I killed 4 out of the 10 that I've seen.One of those probably does'nt really count though because I hit it with the car on accident.I saw the other 6 when I was driving home one night so I could'nt kill them.Luckily they were down in the ditch where I was'nt anywhere close to runnin them over.I actually saw 2 skunks runnin with eachother which I thought was pretty strange and then I saw 4 other skunks the same night but all of those were by theirselves.
I feel the same way about them as you do though.Their nasty little critters thats for sure.
