Varmit/Target Rifles ???

I bought two new rifles the last year and have started to shoot them a little and have noticed something yesterday at the range. Both rifles seems not to eject a spent case. The bolt will grab the case but doesnt throw them out of the magazine. They seem to just pop off the bolt and are laying there in the mag and I have to take them out by hand. It prevenst me from cambering another round.

It onlt does this on a spent case. It will eject a live round just fine. It seems the problem is as the spent case clears the throat it doesnt have any tension being it on the bolt face.

Any thoughts

What kind of rifles? My littke stevens does that too if I work the bolt slow. Try dropping a spent case in and chamber it. Then work the bolt like your goin for a quik second shot, work it hard all the wsy open to the bolt stop. See if that helps. If not lookinto replacind the extractor or maybe spring in it.

It *should* eject or at least pull the case almost out even with a slow pull.

But

I've had more than 1 pistol and AR in my hands that "won't feed" the first round or won't fully chamber. In my hands I never had a single issue. Hand it back and watch people baby them like they were made out tissue paper.

These things are tools. Work the action like you mean it. That alone has solved thousands of problems in the past.

If that fails, extractor/ejector needs looked at.

I purchased a used rifle once that the ejector spring was shortened so it would not eject the case. Some people don't like their Lapua brass bouncing on the ground.
