Interesting. They seem (or at least that wolf) to be pretty good at it. I had never considered they fished, but it stands to reason that they will adapt and eat a variety of things. While they may fish at times, they also have an earned reputation of being pretty devastating on other wildlife.

Many years ago we used to hunt coyotes on a (then) desolate beach and often observed packs of coyotes chasing (and catching) mullet that schooled in the shallow bay. They were quite adept at catching them, as well.

I know what you mean, but yes, I believe it is a younger one in its summer coat. Which would make sense if those fish are spawning in the late spring or early summer.
 
Sure doesn't look like a wolf to Me---Pointed ears . pointed muzzle. small feet---Black tip on tail-- just moves like a coyote---But than I only seen a few wolf's in the wild----it sill looks like a scroungy coyote---if it is a wolf I'd probably make the mistake and shoot it for a coyote ----------good read

The more "domesticated" the wolf becomes, the easier it is to convince the public and judges to interfere with control management(trapping and hunting).
