VLD on Game...

Has anyone saw the "new" Berger website. It's MUCH better. However, they now have bullet selections selected by category. I found it interesting they now recommend some of there heavier bullets & VLD match bullets for game. This includes some of the heavy .224 bullets.

What do you guys think? I know a lot of guys have been doing this with matchkings for years. Sierra still recomends against it in all their manuals, websites, newsleters, ect...???? Are they next?

well most custom makers are going to the heavier jackets to control expansion on they're vld's, and some of them are excellant, I shot some wildcat .284 200 gr bullets and they shot great and the jacket is the same thickness as controlled expansion .338 bullets.

We used the Wildcat 125Gr. in 25-06AI last fall on 6 Antelope, 3 Mule Deer & 1 Whitetail with great results!

I've used 80gr's VLD's on PD's with great success. It was in a 22BR with fast twist barrel

I am thinking about loading up some 70 grainers in 223 for coyotes. Anyone shoot these?
