i've read alot of you guys use yellowhammer tape
for bobcat but how loud should the volume be for
calling them on the e-caller,and does that tape
work real good on cats.

I've used all kind of sounds on cats, almost any of the bird sounds work good. The yellowhammer is one of the better ones, I have had real good luck with the chicken in distress. Most callers start there sequence off low, but I am of the mind that a coyote, bobcat or even a fox is not afraid of a 50 lb rabbit or bird. Good Hunting

I mainly use mouth blown calls of the rabbit in distress type but any will work. I have had far better luck starting the setup with a loud screaming. I bring the volume down if I see something responding. It seems that by lowering the volume of the call it sorta peaks their intrest. I also scream more frantic sounding but at a much lower volume. It works for me.
Good Luck.

Can't say that I've ever used or heard the yellowhammer sound. I've always used either jackrabbit or cottontail in distress with good results on both cats and coyotes. In my area, I start off with medium volume and increase to very loud. I'll back off volume when I field a response. Personally, the raspier and louder a call .... the better I like it. I figure the louder the call, the more area I can cover ... the more area I can cover, the greater my chances of a response. Also, this area is normally breezy to windy ... calm days are sometimes an exception. Make it sound as distressful as possible and make it loud ... works for me anyway.
