Vortex Scopes?

Has anyone had any experience with this brand of scope? I am considering one for my new Savage, but was hoping to get some opinions on them first. Thanks in advance.

I have 3 diamondbacks and a viper. I put the 3.5x10x50 up against the same scope in a leupold vx3. early morning and the vortex was alot clearer, plus it only cost 239.00 compared to the 650.00 I paid for the leupold.

Been thinking about the Viper series for this gun in 6.5x20x44mm but having troubles deciding which reticle to get. Between the V-wide duplex or target dot? This gun will be used as a Varmint Hunter class matches, coyote and ground squirrels in Eastern,Or and Wa. Terrain is open with sagebrush and range ground while hunting. Any help would be apprecaited.

Target Dot Reticle
This reticle uses fine wires and a small central dot for the aiming point. Good for the target and varmint shooter under fairly well-lit conditions. Wire thickness .04, the dot is .19 around. measured in MOA

V-Plex Wide Reticle
This is a general purpose reticle with a wider mid-section of fine wire for less target obstruction. Good for general hunting, target, and varmint applications.
Cross hair thickness is .1, with the thicker duplex starting at 14.1 measured in MOA..

I would personally go with the Duplex, but have known a few people who really like the dots..
All personal pref. Let me know which one you want one, I can order it for you..

I have a Diamondback on my CZ. I'm happy with it but the cross hairs are a little thick to my liking but that being said the last time I was at the range with this rifle I shot a couple of 3/4" groups at 200 yds. Dave

Absolutely love the vortex viper. The scope is perfect but from what i understand there aren't too many options for the turrets. I have the 3.5-10x50 with the dead hold BDC

thanks for all the responses. looks like im gonna be going with a Vortex scope. I am planning on getting either the Viper 6.5-20x44mm or x50mm. Any opinions on which one to go with?

I wasn't aware that an FFL was required to order a scope from them. I added one to my cart and although I didn't place the order, it didn't have anything saying that an FFL was required.
