Vortex Viper 4-12X40 VS Leupold VXIII 4-14

I have a Leupold VXIII 4-14 and wanted opinions on the Viper 4-12. How does the glass compare at high magnification with the Leupold? I wanted to save a bit of $ and the reviews that I have read have been positive on the Viper. Does anyone know how it compares in low-light? I do not have any dealers near me so I can not try one for myself. Sorry to go off topic but what about a Burris?

I just replaced my Burris 3 x 9 x 40 FF with a vortex viper and the viper blows it away.

Great glass, have seen write ups on the net that have the writer defending there favorite brand Leo. Have heard others comparing them to Zies...

I Really like mine.. the power ring is the cat’s meow when your locked into your rifle, and then ask yourself what power setting am I on?

I am Very pleased with my bino's and friends scopes I have sighted thru. My next rifle will have a Vortex riding on it. The gun shop I frequent said Nikon sales have bit it since he introduced Vortex.
