i do alot of long range groundhog hunting. benches were to heavy around 75lbs. harris bipod with sand bags were ok on the ground but ticks and ants eat you alive. how about a rifle rest that is as stable as a bench moves up and down and left and right. you can use it from fold out a chair or standing up. every adjustment locks in. weights about 10 lbs. well i found it VRS system (versatile rest system out of texas. talk to mark stehling at 972-276-3110. they have a great video on this system. tell him earl sent you. there web site is called lone star field products. The only problem i found was the rest was a little to high to shoot from a fold up chair. problem solved, replace there bottom piece with a 10 link light chain. it spreads out the three legs thus lowering the rest. it actually makes the rest more stable. very easy to do.This is not a cheap rest. around $400.00 but well worth the money.

Will be updating the Lone Star Field Products website in the next couple days to make it easier for you to get the info you need. If you are shooting over a dog town at long range, the VR505 is the set-up. If you are shooting at short range and require rapid target acquisition, use the VR555. Check back on the website after 5/30 for more details

wow, that looks awesome. Wish there were more alternatives for field sitting position between that at $400 ish and a bipod at $65 ish. Seems like a pretty big gap in the market. Anyone know any alternatives? I bet that rest is awesome but I cant afford it, grumble grumble.

I shot for 2 days this weekend using a folding card table, and 5-gallon bucket I found on the roadside. It's not very "elegant" but it is affordable. Seven bucks at a yard sale. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif PD's died just the same.

Vrs rifle rest is the best there is. We hunted groundhogs yesterday in Pa. We shot 12 hogs at yardage of 350 to 500 yards using the VRS RIFLE SYSTEM.. We missed 5 due to yardage difference. We used a cooper 223 caliber rifle and a remington 204 caliber rifle. Both rifles have leopold 6.5x20 scopes on them. This rifle rest is extremely stable and does not move once its locked in. This is a very easy unit to carry and easy to set up. No sand bags no other heavy equiptment to carry. We take those cheap fold up chairs with us to sit in. This rest is the best because i have tried all the rest. What a pleasure to shoot from a chair and a rest that will do it all. Buy one you won't be disappointed.

Guys , The best thing about this VRS is you can shoot SITTING DOWN and relax while shooting. This unit moves left and right and up and down. The legs also permit standing up Shooting. 90% of you will use it from a fold out chair. If you are a serious long range sniper type of guy this system is a must. Give Mark Stehling a call for a free DVD. 972-276-3110.

i suggest the vrs spec-rest model vr555 with tripod legs and single arm. This will work great on long range groundhogs, western dog towns and long range deer sniping.

3 versions? why don't you simply make telescoping legs? all 3 units in one product, problem solved. Or am I Misunderstanding? If not send royalies for the idea to me. I need more gun stuff /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
