Waiting for a Krieger Barrel

I ordered a New 284 blank from Krieger about 20 weeks ago. I called and said they were behind schedule and the barrel was waiting to be fluted. It may be ready for September....The wait continues! I am also waiting on Pierce Engineering action so it's okay. I got the stock, jewell trigger and bottom metal. Lord give me more patience!!!

I feel your pain...........I ordered on 03-14-2012 and I am still waiting too.

I am also waiting on a stock ordered the same day.

Hear alot of people tell the stories of waiting forever for a new barrel. There are guys on 6mmbenchrest.com that have barrels in stock and can ship right away. They are usually gunsmiths that buy in bulk from Krieger, Hart, Yada Yada. I paid $320 for a 30 cal Krieger. Didn't have to wait, but did have to send it to Gunsmith for chambering and threading. Total wait time of about 4 weeks to shoot my new rifle.

When I ordered my 243 barrel from Bartlein, there was a standard 6 month wait on the blanks and additional time to have them install the barrel and chamber it. I knew it up front, but was understanding since it was a custom order and not a standard off the rack contour and twist. The waiting sucks though, especially the last few weeks. The good part is when it is in your hands finally and you get exactly what you want and it performs as expected.

Ordered a 284 blank from Krieger around April 1st. Estimated time was 20 weeks but sounds like it might be a little longer. On the other hand I ordered a 243 blank from Shilen in mid-April and had it by June 1st.

I ordered mine Febuary 28, they said maybe by end of August. I did not know about Brunos at the time of my order but have since found them. I did get my Jewell trigger from Brunos.
