Waiting Game

Missed a couple of deals on Contenders but was actually trying to buy them just for the stocks more than the barrels and frames so, I just ordered me a new one from Boyd's. One rifle kinda got sold out from under me and the other one was just more money than I thought it was worth. And actually all I wanted was the furniture. One was a 22 Hornet and I wouldn't have minded having that barrel but all in all, I have a new stock coming and for a lot less money. Its just the waiting game that drives me crazy. Should be here this week but haven't got a tracking number yet so who knows?? I ordered a thumbhole stock in Boyd's camo laminate. The rifle is a heavy barrel 30-30. The new stock should make it a lot more pleasant to shoot over the plastic stock that's on it now.

Well my stock came today. I must say Boyd's did it again. The stock was 100% drop in and made a great improvement over the plastic (?) stock that was on it. It did lengthen the pull a little over an inch and that was what I was hoping for. I got the camo thumbhole and it has a little more green than I was expecting but still a very nice looking stock. If anyone needs a carbine stock for a Gen1 Contender let me know. It may be a youth stock as its shorter than the Boyd's but its in great shape.
