) said that he had walkers game ears and they are well worth it.

Even at my young age im afraid ive got the beginings of this "tiniuts" or what ever its called when your ears ring and i figured I better start looking into a pair.

I cant afford the $800 pair and dont really want too even the $300 pair is more than i want to pay.

So what about the $150 dollar pair?

Walkers game ear

Anyone have it? the one reviewer said the piece picks up wind and clothing movement .. but i dont really hunt in the wind so i dont care about that But i do hunt with my hood on and my winter set up i have a full face mask.

Do you think that with a hood on and/or a facemask on that it will be so noisy from turning my head that it would make it harder to hunt?

With chirstmas coming that new choke tube and the game ears seem like they might be a wise investment.

EDIT: wait... do they really only come with one???

I can't remember the model I have, but they're the cheaper Walker's. They magnify everything, wind, water, rain, etc. = Annoying!!! But I think it's well worth it having them, especially hunting in the thick. Some days you just can't use them, but when condition are right, they're very nice.

are those any good? i dont care if theyre HD and i dont care if they truly amplify sound.. i just want something that blocks muzzle sound and still lets me hear without fidling around with ear plugs or muffs

My thoughts are, leave the walkers alone. From what I read before I bought my pro ears, their customer service is poor at best. Again, since I have never owned them, I can not personally say this. However, I read enough bad information before I bought what I bought that I did not buy the walkers. Also, I think it is just like any other piece of equipment. You get what you pay for. When I buy hunting stuff, I expect it to last and have found if I settle for less, usually I am not happy and go buy what I wanted to start with. So my thoughts are, with something so important as your hearing, maybe you should consider trying to just some cheap plugs or muffs to only block out muzzle sound until you can stash back enough to buy a good pair. The reason I suggest muffs is to only pull them down when you shoot so you can still hear the rest of the time and you will maybe spend $25 to start. (It took me about a year to save up even the $300/$400 for my pair). That being said, I really think you should look at the pro ears.

I have dealt with hearing aids all my life because I am hard of hearing and with that being said, I own the exact Walker Game ear you are looking at noobie, the HD model that is. The only thing I done different is I pitched the foam inserts and got a pair of custom ear molds from my hearing aid provider, cost an additional $70. And yes they pick up everything including the rustling of clothes and wind. As far as protecting from muzzle blast, they are suppose to suppress the noise but I honestly dont notice the blast while hunting any way and I certainly dont wear them while shooting from the bench. I tried a high end pair of Walker ear muffs inside the store and was not impressed. I hear good things about the Pro Ears but never have tried a pair. If possible you need to try whatever it is you are looking at before you buy. Would I buy another set of Walker HDs? Sure!

Had the walkers for 2 weeks not worth taking out of store. Sold them for 1\2 what I had in them. Buy cheap muffs until you can get a pair of Pro Ears. Somethings are worth waiting on. Your hearing is one of them.

I have been useing the same Walker Gamer ear for Cowboy Action Shooting about the last 10yrs, Usually wear it about 6hrs a day 5-6 times a month from May-Oct. I have also replaced the foam insert with a custom molded one Cabelas as well as Brownells sell the kits for doing your own molded ear plugs think there like $10. If I turn it up to loud I get wind noise as well. Customer service I dont know about never needed it. So opinions differ lots O luck.

Edited to add the only time I have ever had a problem with mine which wasnt a dead battery, Is when the little pickup tube built up with ear crud cleaned out and working again.

I have one of the walkers digitals, it works good, but with just one it's hard to tell direction and any other noise is a PITA, traffic, wind, water etc. Eventually I'll get another. I also went to the local hearing aid guy and got a custom ear piece made, well worth the investment.
