Wanted 357 Automag with halagon light...

This might brighten somebodys night...

While "Nightstalking" varmits this past weekend in San Saba, I made a long shot on a fox after 20 mins of calling. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Then walking with my friend's son,14, to pick upour kill, we got within 15 feet of it... we heard the grooowwwll that will make the hair on your neck stand up and beg for a bigger gun. Being very dark at 3:00am in heavy wooded cover,
I was not sure where the sound was coming from...(25 yds..sounded more like 25ft)
The Hell with being quiet, I yelled for JD to run to the truck and for him and his dad to light me up with the spotlights.
Don't let todays youth fool ya, these couch potatos can run if they want to!
I guess we scared it off... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
But walking backwards thru the trees has a whole new meaning to it as of NOW!
Let me tell ya holding a 22mag bolt handgun w/light attached to scope is NOT reassuring at times like these. (clean undershorts.. IS! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif )
Around 9:00pm that night a 150 lb.+ couger was seen at the farm next to where we were hunting.
I dont mind going after big cats, when I'm prepared for it, like with BIG auto rifles, tall tree stands or dogs.
JD has now decided to hunt from the truck and I "can get my own game" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Oh and by the way, there is still a fox there if anyone wants it....or not! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
