Warne Rings for my AR

Guys, I got a Bushnell 3200 2x7x36 on it's way to go on my BM shorty (16"). This will be used for up close and personal yote hunting in the ravines and woods.

Any advice on some websites where I can find some good deals on Warne rings. I'm thinking high or ultra high will work just fine. I am very doubtful that I will need an armalite or a mount that reaches out over the barrel for this small scope.

Kind thinking about the Warne QD's too so I can switch back to my iron sights.

I use Warne QDs on my ARs, but I have EOP receivers and the High rings work great. Even with the Ultra High, you may need to add a riser. A lot will depend on where the scope sits for you. I like my scope sitting a little on the high side with the AR configuration.

Warne makes a special AR quick detach ring that has the height you will need. I don't think even with the extra high ring you will have enough height to mount a 36MM scope with out risers, it will be cheaper and more secure to buy the AR specific ring and mount with less parts.

I have Warne QD super high rings and needed the 1/2 risers to make it work BUT my scopes a 50mm obj although I dont have a lot of extra room. I love those rings, they install back to 1/2 inch at 100 yards every time

Hi BBsteel,

I'm assuming your Bushy 16 is the A3 flat top. The size of your scope is not important since just about any objective will clear the forend. The eye-relief is important as well as the height. Your scope only has 3.0 inch eye-relief so you should do OK without a forward offset mount. The highest Warne QD rings ( Model 204LM) are .935 from the rail top to the bottom of the scope tube. If your not a really big guy, that could be high enough for you. Another good choice might be the Burris Extreme Tacticals (Model #420183 extra-high)rings which are 1 inch from the rail to the bottom of the scope tube. The Burris rings are on sale at opticsplanet.com for 43.95 with free UPS. The Warne rings are around $68 plus shipping most places.

That should be a good coyote setup I think.

I use Warne's on all my rifles. Usually high rings are all that is needed however some say they need extra high. I use these with 50 mm obj's with 30mm tubes. Risers are just something else to buy and work loose messing with your zero in my opinion.

What's the repeatability (return to zero) on those Warne rings? I want to interchange a scope with an Eotech red dot. I know that a Larue mount will provide acurate RTZ, but if I can save a few $$, that ain't a bad thing, either.

My Warne Rings repeat within 1/4 on my AR, I just make sure to put it in the same T# slot each time and push the scope forward as I lock the ring down. I transport my scope in a seperate case when transporting my AR to prevent damage so repeatability is critical and Warne rings have performed flawless for me. They aren't cheap but they are worth what they charge.
