Warne rings

This goes along with the blue locktite thread. I changed a set of the quick release warne rings from my muzzle loader to a remington 700. Of course the front rings didn't match the mount. So I loosened them and tighten them back up. Both the intial install and the seconf I used locktite. When I went to reinstall it on my muzzleloader a screw broke off in the ring. That was on Wednesday.

I called Warne on Thursday to see if I could buy a single one. He asked the size and color and sent me a whole other set for free I got them today. I don't plan on using anymore locktite on rings. I also don't plan on buying any other brand of rings. Big fan here

I'm a fan of Warne rings myself....never needed their CS but it's good to hear they are good to deal with. Their rings are heavy being steel but they are solid and then some, I consider their rings to be some of if not the best made on the market.

Nope... and after the base was completely removed, and the screw stem was still sticking out, vice grips wound not move it

I look around. See if I can score you some 'mil-spec' ones...lol

Seriously, though. They usually do a great job. That mess you've go pictured looks like no fun.

I once had to drill out some ring screws. I was careful enough to not damage the scope. Found remnants of red LocTite there...

Cat,

A little heat didn't work?

I've had some (from rifles not owned by me) that were froze and I applied some heat from a small propane torch and they backed out.... Eventually, after a lot of work but they came out.

I did everything - propane torch - penetrating oil, you name it.
