WARNING - Oklahoma Game Wardens Association Call Scam

A Predator Masters Member, Mike France, who does not seem to be a member here any more, contacted me last year about this time and asked if I would make 4 matched sets of calls for the Oklahoma Game Wardens Association Annual Banquet.

I agreed.

I mailed 4 matched sets of calls to Mike France on May 30, 2006

One matched 4 call set and 3 matched 3 call sets all with matching lanyards. 13 calls and 4 lanyards total.

The banquet these calls were for was held on June 3, 2006. I have signature confirmation that the calls were recieved by Mike France prior to the event.

To date, I have heard nothing from anyone at the Oklahoma Game Wardens Association concerning these calls. No payment, no offer of payment, no offer of reimbusement for materials and shipping, not even a simple "thank you", which is really all I ever even wanted.

Mike France does not return E mails, The association president, Tony Clark has refused to anwser regular mail.

Both these gentelmen are Okalhoma Game Wardens, verified by the Okalahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation.

I have contacted the OKDWC and exchanged E mails with the Director, Greg Duffy. He tells me that the Okalhoma Game Wardens Association is not affiliated with the OKDWC and there is nothign he can, or will, do.

If you are contacted by either Mike France, Tony Clark or anyone who says they are from the Oklahoma Game Wardens Association concerning making or donating calls for their annual banquet next year, be advised that this could quite possably be a scam to get your calls, as it was with mine. Currently I am out over $500.00 in calls and shipping cost to these people, and it all coulld have been put to rest with a simple "thank you" for the calls, but they have not even had the class to do that.

Call makers, advertisors and venders, please take this as a warning about this organization.

Sorry to hear about the problems, AL. By the way, I received the 2 calls. All I can say is awesome and beautiful. The thicker mylar sounds great in my howler. Thank you, Brian.
 
Al, sorry that the information I got for you was useless. I really wish that they didn't do this to you, as it kinda gives all of us Okies a bad name. If I can help you out any further, let me know.

This started on Predator Masters, but that doesn't make PM a bad place

The guys who pulled it off are from Oklahoma, but that does make Oklahoma a bad place either

They are game wardens, but again, it doesn't mean all gamewardens are crooks and thieves.

Your information was very helpful, and I thank you for the time and trouble you went to to get it for me.

But neither Mike France or Tony Clark seem willing to answer any corespondance about this.

Greg Duffy, the Director at the OK Department of Wildlife Conservation is the one who puzzles me. If I had employess who were ripping people off under the guise of being associated with, and using a name that leads one to believe they are assocaited with my department, I might call them in and have a little chat with them. Yet he could care less. It makes him look culpabble in this. Or at the very least, incompetetant.

The call makers and other advertisers here need to be aware of this group however.

As for you guys from OK, I already mentioned that I will be happy to supply some door prizes or raffle items for your upcoming hunt.

I just read your post and am from Oklahoma and am sorry that anyone from here would do that. I know that people on this site are really good to help one another, they have sure helped me.

This situation has been resolved.

I would like to personally thank the member who steped in and contacted one of the members of the board of directors of the Oklahoma Game Wardens Association.

I recieved a call from them today and it appears we are now going to be square on this deal.

So, to who ever stepped in, Thank You. I hope one day I can repay the favor.

J Holly, Thank You again for what you did to help resolve this. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it.

Also, I would like to thank Predator Masters for allowing this post and for having such a great site that attracts members like Jeff and the one who helped me out in this case. I had exhausted every form of contact I had with this organization prior to making a public post on this issue. So....

Have never met a game warden I liked even a little bit last year I got a ticket for trespassing to hunt, the only thing is I had permission he told me to prove it in court and kicked me off the property so I did and made him look like a dumb #*@ in front of the judge but it still mess up my hunting that day teed me off /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif Glad to see you got it resolved

Terrible indeed. Mr. Duffy may have perked up a bit if you had informed him that you would be filing criminal charges against the individuals involved. Either through your County Prosecutors Office or the Federal Postal Inspectors. Maybe that would have shaken his suger tree enough to cause him to do something so it doesn't appear that he is hindering a criminal investigation, and/or, failing to investigate a possible criminal act by two of his agents. That's just dumb of the entire lot. I'm glad it worked out.
 
I'm glad you got it squared away.Tony Clark is the game warden in my county.If I would have seen this thread sooner I could have probably helped you out.
It would be nice if you could come to this hunt in Oklahoma and hunt with us.okhunter
