I guess I should clean my 'MAKE MYSELF A CALL SOME DAY' shelf more often. Way in the back I found a warthog tusk I'd stashed a few years ago. Figured it was time to part with it, so I made an enclosed reeder.
There is a 6" ruler in one of the pictures, so you can see it's not a midget.
It has the look and feel of ivory, but at a fraction of the cost. The natural hollow body makes a call that really rings and has an nice edge to the tone. The lanyard groove is shallow, but will do the job. It would be easy to deepen to your own taste with a rat tail file, then some fine sand paper around a dowel.
If you want a very different call, and be the only kid on the block that has one, I'd take it out of the display case and send it to you for 50 bucks (and I'll pay the postage and tracking).
It looks really nice in my case, but it's time to lighten the load.
Regards!!
Rudy
