wav sounds onto scorpion??

Finally got around to customising my foxpro calls in goldwave, played and then recorded into goldwave on computer, then added silence etc - did about 10 calls and got them onto my scorpion (as a WAV file). Took best part of the day!!!

When I have come to play them back they sound distorted - not at the right pitch/frequency?? but the other wav files I have play fine and of course the fxp sounds are also fine.

Can anybody shed any light on why these sounds don't sound right? (they play fine on my computer)

When I did the same thing with my scorpion sounds they didn't play at all. Frusterating to say the least.

I ended up going with the mp3 format and doing it in stereo. I ran them into my computer with the external speaker port to the microphone port. I was able to add silence and customize some sounds by increasing the volume. Maybe I just held my mouth right?

Good luck

Is there a difference between wav and mp3?

I do know that on goldwave it seems as though all the sound is associated on one "speaker" (blue speaker on the goldwave record screen and very little "levels" show on the other speaker window)

Can I choose to put them into mp3 files from goldwave instead of wav files? Is there a file selector box somewhere??

Regards NW

OK problem sorted and for the benefit of anyone else having this problem the answer is, as stated in the scorpion manual, playback rate in the scorpion for stereo wav files is 32 KHz not 44KHz.

Easy to change using goldwave.
