And some more. http://www.dixiesgifts.com/weasel_ball.html

The weasel ball is a kids toy.
It has a small motor inside the ball the motor has a weight on one side which causes the ball to move.
The weasel part is attached to the ball by one of those plastic string (looks like fishing line) that they use to hold the price tags on clothing at stores.
I have used mine and it looks like it should work good.
I just started hunting yotes and havent had a yote come in yet but I cant wait until one does so I can see his reaction to the weasel ball.
Good luck!

umm a weasel ball is just a kids toy as the other person said on here it really doesnt work very good at all because the weasel part is too little and not really noticable plus 90% of the time the thing is way to loud and then run when they hear it plus the thing usly wont roll around unless it is in a frisabee I would invest in a decoy heart and and there decoy or put the decoy heart in the feather flex bunny witch i do and it works wonder www.featherflexbecoys.com and www.decoyheart.com are the two sites

I personally have the predator supreme decoy and it works great. I would say it seems to noisy, but the yote I colled in last weekend didn't think so. I walk off the distance of only six steps for him to the decoy.
I think you could make the same type of decoy for a fraction of the cost using the weasel ball. Dowl, light spring, screw and a gutted stuffed toy and your in business. The only problem is you need to unscrew the ball to turn it on and off. I'm in the process of making one as a back-up and I'll post my results when finished.

Have a good one, Scott

FWIW:

If the "weasel ball" is mounted to a spring on a stick...

couldnt a guy just drill a small hole and mount/wire a cheap little toggle switch for on/off ?

That won't work Robb. The motor, battery and off-set weight spin on an axis inside the ball. Sort of like an off balance gyroscope. There is no way to attach a switch because the guts swing in a 360 degree circle inside the ball.

The one I have has a switch ( a really crappy switch too ) on the outside that maintains a singular position at all times... (got mine from the pet dept at the Graocery store last year)

Coyotebuster,

I had thought about using a weaselball for decoying coyotes and bobcats. I was looking at some sites on the internet and I came across one called decoyheart.com. Upon looking at this site they have the predator supreme which is basically a weasel ball mounted on a spring and a about a 3/8" dowel rod. Your idea should work, but you're going to have to drill a hole through the bottom of the weasel ball and attach the spring with a screw thru the bottom, and attach to the dowel rod. I have been thinking about making one myself, and one for my friend. You'll have to get some kind of synthetic fur, or get a rabbit and skin and use some salt or something to tan the hide, then you can use this to cover the ball, thus just living the stick exposed. Drop me a line if you have any questions.

THE WEASEL BALL WORKS AWESOME FOR $5.99 !!! YOU HAVE TO DO A LITTLE REWORK BUT IT BEATS $40.00 FOR THE PREDATOR SUPREME. ATTACH COTTON BALLS TO THE BALL PART WITH CONTACT CEMENT.(THE HALVES UNSCREW SO TAKE THEM APART WHEN APPLYING GLUE SO IT DOESN'T SEAL TOGETHER.)ALSO,PUT ONE OF THOSE SCREW ON EYELETS ON IT, THAT WAY YOU CAN HANG IT FROM A BRANCH OR A SPRING OR JUST ABOUT ANYTHING. I USE MY TURKEY DECOY STAKE WITH A SPRING HOOKED ON IT. I ALSO STORE IT IN A ZIP LOC BAG FILLED WITH BEDDING FROM A FRIEND'S RABBIT CAGE. MY FRIEND SWEARS BY THOSE BATTERY OPERATED LITTLE WHITE DOGS AT TOYS'R'US THAT SQUEEK AND DO BACK FLIPS. HE SAYS THEY USUALLY TIP OVER BUT THEN THEY LAY ON THEIR SIDES KICKING AND SQUEEKING AND I'LL TELL YOU IT LOOKS JUST LIKE A SMALL CREATURE KICKING IT'S LAST. HE TAUGHT ME TO KEEP MY DECOYS IN A ZIP LOC WITH RABBIT BEDDING. I'VE SEEN COYOTES COME RUNNING IN FULL THROTTLE TO THOSE STUPID THINGS. I'VE EVEN HEARD OF GUYS JUST TYING A GOOD SIZE FEATHER TO A BUSH WITH FISHING LINE JUST ENOUGH TO MOVE IN THE BREEZE. YOU JUST NEVER KNOW.

i think the best thing to do is to tyake a little stuffed animal rabbit and mount it to the top off a monster truck! on the video the verminators they do this and it works very well it just drive it around but be sure not to stop when a coyote comes just kep it going like you had it befor is the thing to do! bye
