Weas, how're you doing down there? I see where it's getting kinda' hot in New Harmony. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Is your little valley out of immediate danger, or could it get thru the hills to you? Hope all is well.

We have fires all over the place down here. One could potentially get away and get to the house, but it isn't likely. Last I heard they were close to having that fire contained. It would probably get to Elkaholic's house before it reached here. We do get quite a bit of smoke coming up the creekbed though.

Thanks for the concern. Take care.

Smoke comin up the creek bed uh /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Weasel,I hope they get the fire in your neck of the woods under control before the winds really get going. The one here in Arizona north of Phoenix is going strong.Their projecting fire weather, windy and hot. They have a lot of hot shot crews up on that fire.Whatever those guys earn they deserve more.I've spent a lot of time up where that fire is burning and there's lots of rattlers and other critters that sting and bite up there. They said it was so hot that the fire fighters are just making spike camps and staying close to the fireline cuz it was beating them up going in and out of the fire area.

Weasel, keep us posted and keep that wind pointed the other direction from your house.take care friend, daveyboy

The smoke is nearly blocking out the sun here. We had lots of lightning last night and this morning. We've had a bit a wind too. I don't know if we have any new fires or what's happening with the fires that were already burning. It's difficult to get accurate news reports here. Elkaholic got some photos of the flames from his front yard. He lives right near me.
My youngest son used to fight fires during the summers when he was in college, so I know how hard it is on the fire fighters. He and the rest of his crew were nearly burned over on a fire in AZ. They had to jump onto a moving helicopter and leave all their gear behind to escape. I'm sure glad he's not doing that anymore.
My 5 yr. old grandaughter flew from CA. into Phoenix on Sunday, then on to So. Dakota on Monday. All three states have fires. The little rascal probably thinks the whole world is going up in flames.

I hope ya'll stay safe and don't suffer any property damage.

Oh R.R., I don't breath that smoke coming up out of the creek bed. I don't breath any smoke at all. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
