weatherby trigger adjustment

I bought a weatherby vanguard in 308. I'm trying to adjust the trigger but don't really know how. I know there are two adjustment screws, one for weight of pull and one for creep, I just don't know which is which. any help from a fellow vanguard owner would be greatly appreciated.

The Vanguard is a different action than Weatherby's Mark V, It's made by Howa. The Vanguard comes with an adjustable trigger, adjust the front screw only as listed in the instructions manual. It will adjust down to a little less than 3 lbs. with zero creep.

I have a vanguard too in 223. I was wondering the same thing. Can it be adjusted yourself or do you need a gunsmith to do it?

When i bought the gun at cabela's they didn't have a manual to give me so i am clueless as to which screw you are referring to. Is it the screw that is going through the trigger mechanism into the action?

Take the stock off, find the screw that is in front of and above the trigger. Use a small wrench and loosen the nut. Then use a screwdriver and back the set screw out. Now retighten the nut. Put the action back in the stock.
Perform safety checks to be sure rifle won't fire accidentally.
