Weaver Classic V vs Redfield Revolution?

The Weavers have been out for quite awhile and you don't hear anyone trashiing them. I have three and they've worked just fine for me.
I'm in the same boat though, I'm needing a new 2x7 and can't decide either a New Redfield or a Classic V. Iknow the Weaver has fully multicoated lens but can't find anywhere that states that the Redfields do. The Weavers have some realy nice glass and I'd put them in the same class as my VX-II's just a little less eye relief.

Thought I read Redfields were being made by Luepold? The Weavers are really nice, I have two (the rest are Leupold) and I am very impressed by the quality for the money spent. I wouldn't be surprised if the Redfield and Weaver glass are about the same in quality. As money gets tighter these days I'll probably start buying more Weavers than Leupolds.
The Redfield has the Weaver Classic V beat in 2 areas. First is a no b.s. warranty.
2nd is Turrets. The new Redfield has what would be a hand turn, some call glove type knob. The Weaver Classic V's I own in lower power 3-9x38 are coin slot. Does'nt matter to some, deal breaker for others.
Glass to me and a few others were hard to tell a difference, were all older fellas though. We compared Prostaff,Weaver,Sightron S1,Redfield, Bushnell Trophy, Burris Timberline. All 3-9.
Of course the Redfield had the others beat in eye relief except for the Timberline.

I'm a Hornady freek and an pold Redfield freek. Guess what there are a lot of bullet's almost as good as Hornady's and a lot of scopes almost as good as the new Redfields. The best way to buy a new scope is go look at them and see which one takes you home!

I suspect you've had neither the Denver/Redfields nor the Leupold/Redfields. The scopes in betweern were trash, your right about that.

If your a turret snob like myself it makes a good deal of diff..
Weaver (L.O.W.) glass is quite good ALONG WITH THERE ADJUSTMENTS. the day of a long thumbnail or coin slot adjustments have long pasted.
Ya simply gotta have a decent hand turned turret knob in this day and age. Coin slotted should have died years ago! And I'm 52!
