I have the 3-15x56, 30mm tube, german reticle, Weaver European scope on a 7-08 and have not had a single issue with it in 4 years its been one that rifle.
Clear optics, nothing bad about it IMO.
I always thought Weaver is the Hyundai of cars?? Kinda like Nikko Stirling and Bushnell scopes? I had a Nikko Stirling Scope that came with a 30-06 Rifle combo I bought years ago for Antelope season. Had a 800 Can-am Outlander with a gun rack on the front. The eye piece came unscrewed from the scope as I was driving around the prairie and parts were going everywhere.
Ended up using my brothers rifle with a Leupold Scope on it.
Next scope I purchased was a Leupold 3x9x42 and never had a problem.
Been a Burris fan since I purchased one of their scopes.
Natchez says the Weaver Europeans are made in China. Not that all chinese scopes are bad in fact there are some pretty decent scopes coming from there now but their pricing reflects that.
I have three Weaver scopes and I'm very happy with all three. I have 2 of the V16 classic's and a Super slam. I would highly recommend any of the Weaver scopes that are made in Japan. I think they are the best value for the money of anything out there.
I too am a Burris fan, problem is they don't make any scopes in the USA any more. I just bought an XTR2 and it was made in Japan.
