I finally got an AR. I didn't want one, a lot of guys around here are idiots with them and I didn't want to be one of "those guys." I've been looking for a dedicated predator rifle. I was looking at the axis in 22-250 since I really like that caliber. My father in law was thinking about trading in one of his AR on something else. After feeling how light and easy to swing it was I decided that I needed one. I would post a pic, but just imagine the base flattop DPMS and that's my rifle. Nothing special yet. Anyways I will get some pics up when I get some groups worked up and get the burris on top. I was just going to give y'all a warning that I will be around asking questions.

Yeah. I am in the process of doing a .44 caliber in the ar15. I have four other uppers and figured this would be the last one I would build but now I am thinking of doing another. That would be six uppers with none of them being chambered in 223. Is that a record?
 
Got some glass for the AR so I went to the range today. Shot some cheap 62 gr and 55 gr through it just to get an idea on what it might like. Also zeroed it in for some 55 Vmax.

Five shot group at 100 yards. Not too shabby. I'm pretty sure I pulled the far left one, but it will do.
