Went coyote calling this morning and was gone for 12-1/2 hours.

I took the above picture on my first calling stand this morning. That steam in the air on the right side of the above picture was about 15 miles away.

On my fourth stand I lined my Foxpro up with my shooting position and the sun. So if a coyote wanted to look at me it would be looking straight into the sun.

I had called for about 12 minutes and switched to Jack Rabbit Distress on full blast volume. About 4 minutes later I saw a coyote running straight for my Foxpro. When The coyote was about 150 yards from my Foxpro I muted the sound, when the coyote got to about 15 yards from the caller it stopped and gave me a easy shot. The 35 gr Hornady NTX bullet out of my 223 Rem did a good job

It was a big female with a 2 point tail.

3 or 4 hours later I had a big male coyote run right up to within about 30 yards. It got shot with my shotgun using 1-3/8 oz of TSS #3 shot.

On my next stand I got another shotgun coyote. It was about 60 yards away running at full speed. I shot behind it on the first 2 shots and then hit it on shots 3, 4 and 5.

It was a very long day but I really enjoyed it.

That's actually not as crazy as it sounds, lol.

I use TSS and 12gr Hevishot for waterfowl, and if I can recover pellets for reuse I do.

Sound like you had a great way to spend 1/2 a day!
