Western rivers has a remote that is advertised to work with all the cassette type e-callers (lohman, johnny stewart etc) my question is do they work with these callers? I have a 6 year old lohman. Will it just plug in? I ran up to Cabelas last night to get a yellowhammer tape, seen they stocked the remotes, and noticed that there was 6 or 8 remotes that had been returned and in the bargain corner already, what's up?

Maybe he's not being ignored. Maybe no one has experience with this product. I know I dont. Hopefully , help will be on the way soon.

Not that big of a deal, I've already been to their site and got a phone#, I'll call monday. Also curious as to why the Cabelas bargain corner already has a stack of these returned, I don't think they've been out that long.

Cabela's liberal return policy at times is a nightmare for their vendors. You can not accurately judge a companies reputation by how many returns they have at Cabela's.

It is the same with Walmart. There are people that go to Walmart and buy a big screen tv to watch the Superbowl and return it on Monday. There are those who buy product from Cabela's for a big hunt and return it. Then they buy another one for the next hunt....no kidding.

That is not to say that there is never any defective product sold through Cabela's. Their liberal return policy muddies the waters of perception when you shop at their bargain basement though in that regard.

I know from first hand experience because we used to get returns back from them. Out of 60 or 70 returned callers only 5 or 6 would actually be defective. It is great for you the consumer for Cabela's to do that, but a high price for the vendors to pay for doing business with them. For many it is a trade they will take because of the volume Cabela's can sell.
