what are the best Spring months to call coyotes, in your mind?

I have a very dear friend that wants to come out ( Montana) from PA for a spring coyote hunt. I'm in the GF area but will travel a couple of hundred miles to hunt.
He is 15 years older than me, that's 15 years older than dirt...
Anyway, I like June, or July ( not really spring) But warmer and little snow on the ground.
How about May? Mid-May? If the weather really craps out we will shoot Prairie dogs.
I know most females will be denned up but I have actually had fair luck in may.
We will mostly hunt Prairie or ag lands and river breaks. AND all public lands.

I’m a fur hunter mostly. So I don’t start till October or so. But when I do hunt the spring/summer months, August is the best for us. Central Missouri

Denning season, I bring a shovel and digup and kill the pups when I find the den. They deserve a quick death, not starvation, IMO.

Of course if get the pregnant female, that hasn't dropped the pups yet, you can skip the den work.

I’m not trying to be that guy by any means. I can pull the trigger on anything and not think twice. But I do try not to hunt anything when it’s pregnant, or raising little ones. I feel heartless. That’s why I try to hold off till the late summer/ early fall months for us.
