Im up in Canada and hunt in -35 C on a regular basis and was wondering what you cold weather hunters are using in your e-caller? I would like to buy rechargables and a charger I can plug into the FX3

Cheers!!

If you want to spend the money, the Li-Ion's work great, but they're expensive. The Ni-MH's have been working good for me though this season. I had them out at -34ºC and they worked just fine though. I'll keep using the Ni-MH's this season and keep the Li-Ions as backup if the others fail. The true test is to cold soak them, which I haven't done yet on the Ni-MH's. If you go the Li-Ion route though, you'll have to stick them in a pack or something on the outside of the FX3 and wire up a plug to power it. Not a big deal, just that they won't fit into the battery compartment.

This is what I use ---> ENELOOP

I use the "C" adapters in the JIB the "D" in my trail cameras and the AAA's well in my TV remote

I also purchased an additional 8 pack for my Scorpion.

No problems nor complaints,...YET

I also like the "Eneloop" and Eneloop type low discharge rechargeable batteries. They can be topped off at any point in their use and do very well in the cold. Besides my callers I use them in all my trail cams and AA powered flash lights.

My favorites have been Hybrio and Accupower. I just purchased some of Rayovac's also. They will charge with any Nimh charger. If you go with this type of battery you should also invest in one of the 8 position charging and conditioning units. Not a must but then you can charge your whole rack of batteries at the same time.
The best Nimh battery I have found is the Sanyo 2700 it is a long lasting rechargeable when used right after charging but it does loose power when stored like all Nimh batteries.

I use the Duracell version of the Eneloop batteries, they claim to be able to sit for a year with no major discharge, so far so good my call always works when I grab it.
