What do you think pvs-14.

This looks like a great deal for night vision coyote hunting...

I've been thinking about the Pulsar Digisight, or the ATN PS22-2 and then realize for another $1000.00 I can get this Generation 3 that is a multipurpose unit. Now I just wonder if this works well with a 16 inch RRA AR15 with a 3x9x40 Leopould scope? Does anyone use this set up? How fast and eazy is it to mount the monocular to the back of you rifle after scanning with the helmet. I see that there is a multitude of mount brackets you can get to to this but not sure of the best set up.

i dont personally have n/ yet but on hightechredneck.com they hae some cool video of going from scanning to shooting....very cool set up. Its on my wish list for next year

Best thing is to get a PVS-14 on a helmet over your non-dominate eye and use an IR illuminator to light up your target and then put a laser on it, don't need any sights at all....

Hey Shirefisher, I answered your post on the optics forum. Let me know if you have any questions about our setup.

Go with the pvs 14. The Atn ps22 cgt i tried was junk unless u can use an ir light all the time. Some states ir illuminators are illegal. Range was 100 yards or so and still had fish bowl look. With pvs 14 you can helmet mount and gun mount. Plus if you have a flir, you can use the pvs14 to get a better detail look. The HTRN gun mount system works good. I have seen it in action on a friends setup and he killed two coyotes within 15 seconds of each other and one on the run. GG&G and TNVC also sell a quick gun mount. Id rather use a scope but some vendors will tell you to go with a red dot like aimpoint or eotech-i have not tried the red dot but i hear the range is 100 yards. Only bad part is once you get the pvs14 you need to buy a helmet mount weight kit ir light laser ...it just doesnt stop...as for shooting from the hip with the ir laser i havent tried it yet. I am waiting on the ldi ital.
