I've been shooting the Hornady V-Max in a 50 and 55 grain for years now. They are accurate hard hitting bullets. If you don't hit a large bone (ie. shoulder, back) the damage is minimal. Great ammo for factory.
Federal has a load with 55gr sierra bthp gamekings. Best ive seen on pelts. Almost always bangflops too. Another plus versus using the light-for-caliber bullets is that these seem to buck the wind very well and are the most accurate factory loads I can remember.
Had good accuracy out of a couple 22-250's with the Rem bonded hollow points, 55gr. Never seen how they perform on coyotes. For the price I think regular soft points, or the Win "white box" hollw points are the way to go.
Agreed with all, 55gr Vmax hornady loads are tackdrivers, can't comment on terminal effect. I also found the 40gr Winchester white box hollow points to shoot very well through my 700 SPSV.
