what fixed 4x?

The Leupold FX2 4x33 is a very good scope.

Another very good scope (for less than half the price of the Leupold) is the Weaver Classic K 4x38.

Either will serve you well........

I was looking hard at a 4x for my 5mm rem. But I ended up with a variable in the end.

The Weaver is very hard to beat. I haven't shot one, my opinion is based of of handling the scope and other folks reviews.

I have the Leupold FXII 6X36 and the 2.5X20 and like both of them very much for medium range deer hunting. For longer range work or smaller targets I prefer a good variable to 10x or higher.

The Weaver fixed 4 is quite the value for the money, I have one for a back up scope along with a Weaver 4.75 fixed. They are insanely reliable and tough.

Every Zeiss I've ever owned blows every Leupold I've ever owned out of the water.

IOR has fantastic glass. I have a 4-14 that is like cheating well after legal shooting time for deer. Makes for some strong will power not to pull the trigger.
