Just to let you know, I did NOT do this. Got this in an email and not exactly sure who actually did it. Whoever did, was not the sharpest tool in the shed /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Man that's odd. Mythbusters tried to do something like that a year or so ago and could not get the rifle to do that. They tried everything, including welding the barrel shut.

I bet that was quite a surprise.

I've seen it happen first hand. It can and does happen.

Looks like there is still 16 inches left, a good cut and crown will fix that up in no time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Or he could use it at the next range bar-be-que when they break out the hot dogs or marshmellows /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's the new "easy bore inspection" barrel. Makes cleaning and inspecting the bore of your rifle a snap.

But it is sure hard to get into a case!

Heck leave it as is, now you have got a tri-pod. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

This really raises my BS antenna.

No way it happened from something stuck in the muzzle.

Agree. Nice recreation of a scene from a Daffy Duck cartoon though. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I honestly don't think this is a BS case. Rather not say where the source came from, but I do believe I know where the pictures were originated from. Apparently the bore-sighter was found almost all the way to the 100yd target holders.

On Mythbusters, they drove (with a hammer) a bolt into the end of a 303 British and welded it in place and barely got the barrel to bulge. I'm with Jack on this one. Personally I doubt there is enough energy to cause the barrel to flare backwards like that at least to the extreme it is plus the uniformity of the "petals" raises flags as well. I would bet a paycheck (I'm a teacher so that isn't much) that the barrel was cut and pulled back. Just my opinion though.

I recieved an email / forward of these exact pictures a few months ago, I think it had a few more pictures even. I am a bit skeptical on its authenticity also.
