What is Chrome Moly in the White

I feel stupid asking this but when looking at bolt handles and rifle barrels I have noticed them listing the finish as Chrome Moly in the White. What does this mean.

means it will rust.
More technically it means the steel will need to be finished to your liking after the work is done.

Chrome Moly steel is what most rifle barrels and bolts were made of thirty years ago before Stainless got real popular.
In the White means no finish, not blueing or plateing of any kind. BTW blueing is just a form of controled rusting once the patina is on that tends to block blocvk deep rusting as long as the steel is cared for and kept oiled lightly. It will still rust pit of neglected though.
