Your 4X is fine; as mentioned earlier, most guys are way over glassed. There is absolutey no need for big glass when calling coyotes, in fact, it will end up handcuffing you more times than it helps. Nothing worse, than pulling up on a hard charger at 40 yards,only to find you've cranked your 4X14 up on 14X., and all you see is a blur,or brush, or if your really lucky, fur, and you won't know if it's tail fur or chest fur.
I have a bold heavy duplex 1.5X6 on my 19 Calhoon coyote rig,and with that glass, from the bench, Ive shot honest groups that measure in the .3's, and those cross hairs literally cover up a one inch square on the target.Big glass is more suited for the PD colonies, but not really needed for a called coyote at normal calling ranges.
