I am trying to reload for a 22-250 using H380, 50 grain nosler ballistic tips.

What type and brand works the best.

Thanks.

also, can anyone sell me some???????????? hard to find in my area

To be honest I would start with what you can find first in LR primers. I use Remington 9 1/2's but have used Federal 210 and could tell no difference.

When I first started reloading I just used CCI LR with H380 and sierra 52 gr hp's. After I used that up I swithced up to the LR mags and it made a big difference. I would just use any kind you can find and look for the magnums you wont be sorry.

I always preferred CCI large rifle primers when I was loading a similar load (45 grain Speer bullet, same powder).

It shot under a half inch at 100 yards without any trouble, but it was an uncommonly accurate rifle. It'd shoot just about anything under an inch.

Most loads will call for large rifle primers, so I'd start there. I also wouldn't be afraid to use mag primers if that's what I had, but I'd start low and work back up again.

You'll find that different rifles like different things, so try to be willinig to experiment a bit to get the best accuracy.

There are about as many answers to this question as there are LR primers available.

Like daryl said above...every barrel can be a blonde, brunette or redhead...try a couple of whatever brands you can scarf up...i have seen marked diff's in accuracy & POI from manuf to manuf...personally i like "match" ones.

Wby460...rem 7 1/2's are small rifle primer..ya need large rifle...fed 210 or 215 (regular,match or magnum versions)...rem 9 1/2....win WLR or WLRM(magnum)..cci 200 or BR-2(match) or 250(magnum)...& reload'n manual.

Rem 7 1/2's are small rifle primers. They'll work in small cartridges like the .223, 22 hornet, and such.

The 22-250, being a necked down 250-3000 savage, uses large rifle primers. Small Rifle primers are smaller in diameter, so they won't seat and stay in the primer pocket of a 22-250.

I always used to prefer CCI but a couple years ago I tried Wolf primers because they were cheap and I've got to say they are great. Now they are my first choice even though the price has gone up, I've had excellent accuracy when using Wolf primers.

Like someone said above, use whatever primers you can get your hands on. But, my 22-250 primers that work well in my rifle are Federal 210's.
On primers, I've been reading some good press on Wolf primers, so I would use them in a heart beat.

We found we got better accuracy with our loads using 55 grain Nosler BT's and H380, using CCILR magnum primers. We had to drop the powder charges 1/2 grain, but the accuracy improved noticeably.

CCI 200's work extemely well with H-380 in my 22-250's & also in my 220 Swifts. They propel Sierra 55 gr. Blitzkings.

I've found no reason to switch any components to something else.

Good luck, I checked out : Graf's, Midway, PowderValley, Bruno's and Wideners. They are all out! Just have to wait for another shipment, they are about $25 per 1000 at that price its no wonder.
