what states can u hunt coyotes in without a hunting license ?

as far as I know all states require some form of license to hunt coyotes. Texas has a $48 5 day non game license

According Gary Roberson on last weeks episode of Carnivore, Wyoming I believe does not require a license of any kind for coyotes. Or maybe they were in Montana?

Wyoming, Montana and Utah requires no license for hunting coyotes for non residents.

Those are three that I know of.

If you want to hunt public land in Montana you do need to buy a conservation license for about 10 bucks.

These are for coyotes as they are considered a predator nuisance.

That does not apply to all other species, mind you.

My info might be dated, so a call to those states department of resources is suggested to confirm validity.

Correct me if I am wrong but If you hunt in Nevada without a license you also cannot possess them. Which means be carefull about taking pictures with your kills as they may consider that possession. At least that is my understanding of the Nevada law.

You can hunt yotes in Nevada without a license if you are going to use the for your own use( trophy or what not). If you are going to sell the hides for profit in Nevada then you need a trappers license. I just shoot and leave them after pictures. Scavengers got to eat to.

P.S. I don't know about transporting across a state line though. Check out NDOW for the whole scoop.

i know you can varmint hunt in Wyoming without a license, my brother in law and his brother flew up there and shot prarie dogs and a couple coyotes here about 3 months ago.

When I called the Nevada Game and Fish they said that you can shoot all the coyotes you want, but you can't be in possesion of them. Like taking them from the kill site is a no go. So you can't collect them up all day and save them for a picture then dump them somewhere.

Wyoming, Utah and Nevada I know for sure as stated above you don't need a license.

Where ever you decide to go,I'd buy a small game license at least. You never know what opportunity you may get,and I think it looks good to locals. Not just coming into their country for a freebie. In Nebraska you will need a small game license and habitat stamp.Be warned though, mange has knocked the population down some there. At least in the south central region.
