What Style Sling Are You Using????

I own a Remington R-15 with the full stock... I was curious what type of sling you are using for calling in the field? A 1 position, 2 position or 3.... If you could provide the the brand and position along with your reasons for the particular style I would really appreciate it. I forgot to add do you have to have any additional accessories to attach to the rifle? In my case I have the full stock. Not the CS... I have swivel studs on the front and rear...I do use a Harris bi-pod on the front swivel...

Is that sling a 2 point sling?? Are you able to have the gun posterior and be hands free then bring up to fire?? I would like to have a sling that allows the gun to be muzzle down across my chest while I'm setting up my call and decoy.. Then it can be at the ready.. As well as be able to sling it over my shoulder the old fashioned way while on the move to the next set.. Hope this makes since dm powder. Thank you for your response I'm going to look up your sling rt now!!!

I have these on both of my rifles. works well for me. I like that i can leave the sling on and pop the buckle when gettin in the truck or when I'm on a stand incase I need to twist and move.

although... on my last outing the stitching on the webbing between the buckle and the two loops on the sling came apart walking to my stand and ker-PLUNK my rifle flat in the snow... nothing a lil 550 chord didnt make all better, just a word

RNO you have me sold!!! Thank you for taking the time to upload the info and video!! Anyone interested in a sling should defintely review the video RNO provided I just have some reservations or concerns regarding how to mount the sling properly to the for end along with the Harris Bi-pod that I'm using.. I looked at the different swivel combo's that are out there.. I cant seem to find a basic swivel to fit on the two buttons that are already present on bootom fore end of the rifle. I ordered Two picatany rails from remington that will go on both sides of the forearm. Can the sling mount that you showed me work/function on the side or does it have to be directly under the forearm for the sling to function properly??? Hope this makes since!! I'm sold on the sling!!! I just want to be certain that it will function with the bi-pod and the correct swivels!!! Awesome job !!! Thanks again RNO!!!!

Hardcore I'm using A-2 stock will the adaptor you linked me to work with that style of stock or will it need to be a CS?? The one point sling looks good.. You obviously perfer it over the others can I ask why?? I'm not in any way second guessing or judging your decision>> Im new to the AR platform and want to gather as much info as possible.... Thanks for you help!!!

It looks like that one specificly needs to be on a CS but there are plenty of other ones that will work with your A2. Here's one: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=744750
you just have to remove the stock to put it on. A simple enough process.

I preferr that one because, for me its quicker. I have a red dot on my DPMS 16" Oracle, and like to run through the brush and bust bunnies so with the single point I can pull it up and get a sight picture quicker. YMMV. It handles like there is no sling at all untill you let it go and it hangs with little isssue. Ive had a two point and it just constricts my movements, again, thats just me.
Another reasin I like that specific sling is the buckel it has. I can leave the sling on and pop the buckle off to get in the truck, or when Im on a stand incase i have to twist and move awkwardly.

Hope this helps.

I don't need to shoot on the fly or quickly, my AR is built for long range, not quick off hand shooting.
I hike quite a few miles when I hunt, and enjoy it. I love my HEAVY AR so I decided to make something that would help make it more comfortable and more safe. Its funny how parents and teachers chastise kids for carrying a back pack on one shoulder, (bad for your back) yet we hunters seem to think its OK.

I built mine to work with Push Button QD Flush Cup swivels. I have a rail mounted point on my quad rail, but my stock has two built in on each side. I don't want to take too close of a picture of the front because it may be getting marketed.

(yes this is similar to the Outlaw Sling designed by a sponsor here) I did however, designed mine purely from my own need and ideas without prior knowledge of the Outlaw or TAB Biathlon. My origonal version was realized after seeing my buddy carry his golf bag with two shoulder straps and I had to carry mine with the old style single strap. A PITA for sure.

That Blue Force will give you the best of both worlds. 2 pnt style for added marksmanship support and the 1 pnt for easy transitions from shoulder to shoulder or transitioning from primary to alternate weapon...however, if you are not in law enforcement or the military, the transitioning from primary to alternate weapon isn't in the mix of reasoning. It is an added benefit for hunters though if you have to transition from shoulder to shoulder in order to take a shot on game that approaches from an unexpected area...just as long as your have practiced you weak side marksmanship skills.

You're Welcome Field Medic, I was only providing my .02. For my rail I have the M. I. mount which is also a quick detach.
Look around, use YouTube to search some brand names. Here is another site for you to check out, tons of Slings to choose from. DSG

I'm pretty boring. I put a standard sling mount in the stock and just use a plain old rifle sling. All that other stuff looks too complicated for me...plus all I'm doing is hunting.

I use a Emdom Gunslinger w/o a pack and 2 Emdom URS slings from the straps of my Sitka pack, w/ Troy QD sling swivels front and rear. Ar is slung up front for quick shots and slings are removable for stands.
