I would recommend Deft Clear Wood Finish, which is a laquer finish. Very easy to put on, which even though it says brushable, you can put on with a HVLP gun for a lot better coverage.
Another product to use would be Penofin Verde, which in your case I would use the Natural. This is an oil finish, which is all that is needed. Actually any of the Penofin products could be used, the Verde just happens to be the new "No Odor" stuff.
