What uppers can a AR15 lower work with?

Newbie, asking a question that I hope makes sense. If I get a AR15 lower, what uppers can go with that? 223, and???

Thanks for any info. Any upper that chambers a case made from a 5.56/223 type case will fit a standard lower or chambers any case that is shorter . You might need a different bolt and or carrier & different buffer/weights. Pistol calibers work and rimfires. No 308's 243's 22-250's et all, they need the bigger lower. The list is so long if in doubt it's best to ask the seller of the upper if it fits a standard lower.

Any AR 15 upper except Colt large pin. If you mean calibers, there are a lot of them.
