I'm getting the itch for a new " calling " gun. It will be suppressed. I want to be able to point and shoot out to 300-400 yards and not have to worry about holding over. I'm sures its been talked about before but thought it would be fun. I'm going to set a limit of no bigger than a 6mm caliber, SA and a 22" max barrel.................ok go!

22-250 or AI version 12 twist for the 53 Vmax ( I would go AI just to not have to trim brass ) I'm playing with one now but the barrel is 24", over 500 yards I definitely like my 8 twist 22-250AI with the 75 Amax but the 53 is working out real good 400 and under very nasty on groundhogs, haven't gotten a chance to try it on coyotes yet

Given the perameters, I would do a Rem 700, in 22-250 5r rifling with 12 twist.

The options for the 700 speak for themselves. You can also get the AR style stock and really custom it to your length of pull, and do the same things for attachments as an AR.

I say the 5 r rifling since it fouls less, and I have had great results with accuracy, and the 12 twist would work well with the 53s (i use them, and have shot lots of PDs out past 500yrds without issue) with a working load, you wouldn't have to trim much, could still get factory ammo in a pinch, and it would require almost no hold over at 400, you won't get that with a heavier bullet. The light, long nose, and really high BC get's you what you are looking for.

The only other things I would even consider, is a AR in 20 tac or Prac It will shoot flat, it's an AR for followups, and would be about as close, with 223 brass (cheap, and tons of it) if there is a shortage again the 35 or 40gr 20cal bullets were always on the shelf, and reloading uses less powder, so you can shoot more.

Tough choice no matter what you get.

22x47 8 twist barrel at 18 or 20" threaded for can
Use 75 Amax so you don't have to worry as much about wind
DBM so you can run the 10 round mags for the runners :)

6x6.8, 55g bullet at 3590+ fps does it for me.
22", 1/9" tw BHW bbl & suppressed.
As long as Im holding on fur 100-300 and on its back at 400 yards its down.

6x45, 55g bullet, 1/10" tw BHW bbl suppressed, 3200 fps does the same as my 6x6.8 holding on fur to 300 and on its back at 400.

No dialing up just mil dots, to 600 yards just a quick dial spin.
They are not fancy or expensive or needing off the wall dies or other parts. They just do the job & do it right.

22-250 / AI
22x47
22-243

Running 53 - 62 gr Barnes ,just incase a chuppa or bigfoot comes to the call !

22/6mm or a 20/6mm if you really want to eat your barrel! I run my 75s at 3860 in a 25" barrel. I could only imagine a 40-55gr if it would hold together

I have what you are wanting to build now. Fur friendly no hold over to over 300 yards. I have a 1 in 12 twist 20 Swift, 27 inch barrel. Shoots 32gr Nosler Boat Tail Ballistic tips at 4,550fps, so you do the math, I did, it is plus or minus less than 2 inches past 350 yards. exactly what you are looking for. Larry
