What yardage do you zero your thermal?

I’m just curious on how others zero their thermals for coyotes? Do you zero dead on at 100 or an inch high at 100, or something else? This would be for mainly open areas. I am interested on hearing your thoughts. I’m using a 22-250 and usually an inch high at 100. Thanks

Depends on how high above the center of the bore. Typically thermals/night vision is higher than day scopes. My 20 cals are 0.3-.4 low at 50 yards, about 1" high at 100 and 0.2-.3 high at 200. I would think the 22-250 would be similar if the same distance above the bore. So actual zero 70-75 yards, and dropping back thru again 220 ish.

I generally double zero thermal scopes at 50/200 yds, though for SBRs, the 50/200 becomes other numbers like 50/130 yds which the 130 had to be found by walking back and forth and shooting :D

For thermal clipons, I use standard 100yd zero for the rifle.

^^ 10.3" barrel 556 double zeroed at 50/130 with 62gr TSX. That's a trijicon mk3 60mm TWS.

^^ 20" bolt gun zeroed at 100yds with thermal clipon. That's a BAE UTC-x

200 zero in 243 with 58 or 75 vmax handloads and Thermion xg50 atop a Ruger American. On at 50 and within 1.5” to 225. Less than 2.4 low at 250 so hold on to there and +\-6” @ 300 = hold on the backline.

Right at 2 inches high at 100, so zero is something like 275 (.224 Valkyrie, 60g Nosler BT (the OG Federal stuff), 3165fps, RS75 that's 3.5 inches above bore). Pretty much center mass +/- ~3 inches out to 325 (3.77 low there per Strelok).

1" to 1 1/4" high at 100. Shooting a .223 18" barrel with 55 gr. V-max that's loaded a little hotter than Hornady superformance. Good out to 300 with when I do take a shot at 300 I generally hold at top of shoulder if I can take my time. Have made most of my shots at that range, especially if I can take my time. Using at present a Thermion XP 50 LRF so 16X max power.

I’ve always sighted in my thermals at 50 yards. My sight height is about 2.5” above the bore, so I’m about 0.1 Mil low at 300 yards.

I zero 2” high at 100 puts me dead on at 300 and 50. 3” high at 200. It’s ar10 in 6 creed. Last night I hit one at 449 yards. I use the SBC light app for holdovers in MOA for my pulsar scope.
