I'm using a mossberg 835 ultimag while shooting 3 1/2" mag loads (mostly DeadCoyote). Whats a good scope to put on it. I started out with a bsa (threw it away after 3 shots fired) and also tried a true glo red dot. I was wondering what you guys would suggest for a scope that can handle the heavy recoil?

The front bead it came with. A shotgun is & always has been a short range gun........ Even with New Super loads its not a long range gun. FYI I have shot HD loads from Hevi-shot to Remingtons HD to Kent TM & Bismuth for ducks & geese. Max Range 45 YDS with steel 55 YDS with lead or HD. Just my 2 cents. FYI I never could say HD is any better than copper platted premium Lead loads but I have only shot hundreds of birds with both & yes I am that old to have hunted before Steel. I have shot coyotes with lead shot & if you don't live in the land of Fruits & Nuts (California) & can use lead buy the platted lead & pattern some in your gun & find a Brand that works. I wouldn't say it is any better then the fiber optic sights that came on the gun from the factory. The real problem for me is the height. I have to lift my head of the stock slightly. I'm actually debating on taking it off or getting a cheek riser.
