Johnny Stewart Gray Fox Pup Distress
Man we used to trap off our bikes as kids in the early 80’s. I remember green coons for $25-30, fox for $40-60, and cats for $70-90. All that was green too. We didn’t have coyotes down here back then, ain’t no telling what those would’ve brought.hunt0168 When you said Johnny Stewart you gave away your age. Well, I just might be on the edge at 55, but that sound has put wings on more grey fox than any other if I had to guess. FWIW, I still dump a coyote or two each year with JS Gray fox Red fox fight!hunt0168 When you said Johnny Stewart you gave away your age. I did the same’ your comment brought back memories.Man we used to trap off our bikes as kids in the early 80’s. I remember green coons for $25-30, fox for $40-60, and cats for $70-90. All that was green too. We didn’t have coyotes down here back then, ain’t no telling what those would’ve brought.
Every comment above is good, high pitched sounds get their attention. Greys are easily triggered. You can make sounds by kissing the back of your hand, short and long kisses. Another great sound that I’ve had the most luck with is coyote pup sounds. Also grey fox distress, but stay away from that bark/scream sounds that call manufactures like to put out. It’s more of a threat sound it may work but it spooks them too. Referring more towards den sounds like pups whining. I’d like to add something and this refers to any animal you chase. Make sure you are in their area, you may have to find where living. Brush piles, thick areas, draws, spots with lots of cactus. Not sure where you are located but remember check your local game laws. Another very fun hunt, is calling coons and they are pretty easy to call. Best of luck to you, looking forward to you pictures.I was wondering what's yall's favorite sounds for grey fox? cant seem to call any of the little buggers.
