What's the status on reloading brass currently

Just wondering what you guys are needing and looing for, and how much stuff is going for. With this nasty wet weather and some time I can probably get once fired and get it all sorted and polished clean. Just making sure it's worth my time. Thanks

Brass is pretty hit or miss. But it is available with some decent amount of looking. And that really depends on the chambering you need. The common ones are the first to show up, some others are more difficult to come by.

From my experience, the common ones are the last to show up. I can get 6.5 Creedmoor brass but no .223.

OP, if you are looking for .223 or .204 you might be waiting some more.

I was going to say just the opposite. The common LE and military stuff is easy to source locally. I can get buckets full of .223. 9 MM, .223, .40 SW, etc, is all pretty easy to come by. Obviously, I'm taking about once fired range pickup here, so if a person is picky about headstamp, crimps, etc, it would be harder to get.

What's hit or miss for me would be stuff like .22-250, 243, etc.

There is still some hoarding going on, but I think it's fizzling out. Guys are finally figuring out that having 1 million rounds of brass only gets you so far if you don't have the other stuff that makes them go bang.

Now if I could just find someone to trim all my brass that needs trimming. And do it for free! That's the key part.

Consider yourself fortunate. There is no .223, .204, .308, or other common brass anywhere around here. Even Midway has been out for months and it's still not in stock.

I'm referring to new Winchester or Remington brass.

There is a bit of used range brass around but that's about it.

I'd say the same with 204. Heck, I've seen bags and bags of 222rem. And plenty of 223 at the places I frequent. But I've had Nosler Custom brass (2 boxes) on backorder from Cabela's for 4 or 5 months I bet. They've tried to cancel me out about 3 times so far but I keep telling them to fill the order. It was on sale for $39 per 50 and that's a great price for stuff I rate right up there with Lapua.

Got a 5 gal bucket today of mostly .223, some .308 and mixed other rifle calibers, once fired and pretty nice. Got to sort and polish and sell it. What about pistol brass? I can get that easy enough also.

I'd buy any .243 you want to sell. No need to polish. Dingy brass don't scare me a bit. Pm me if your selling. PayPal prefered....but will work with you.

a few weeks ago I had 6 100ct bags of mixed head stamp .223 brass that I couldn't sell so I decided to sort it by head stamp and keep most of it, still have a bag or two,

ive been looking for 300 savage brass. saw some saturday at the local gun shop. $45 for 50 hornady brass. $40 for a box of factory federal 150 grn loads.
as far as brass, the shops shelves were pretty much empty. and, what he did have, was way over priced.

unless you have to have proper headstamped cases, 308 to 300 Savage it as simple as FL size and trim to length

As far as .223 goes, since I can have quite a bit, most of you want it deprimed and resized, or would you rather do yourself? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth my time, I've got to pay for the brass as well, and I'm not going to do it to lose money. Basically costs me $3.00 per 100, I still have to sort and polish after that, and ship it. wondering if I nee to dump the .223 and get only the .308, probably not enough of the other rifle calibers to even fool with. 7mm, 30-06, 243, 270 and such

I fount some new 22 250 Winchester brass 200 40.00 a 100. But wanted Remington . Someone said one of the Cabela's had 204. A guy on GB has new Winchester 204 brass . The bags r black and red. The old brass came in a white and blue bag.

Its very interesting to see whats available from everyone here on the site thats from all different states. Here in illinois 223 and 308 brass s easy to come by but i havent seen 22/250 brass for 2 years. It seems hornady brass is everywhere and i even found winchester and remington brass in 25/06,243 yesterday. Good luck to everybody on the hunt.

Decided to dump what I had picked except for the .308 and larger rifle cal. I had 40 pounds of .223, kept 7 pounds of .308 and such. I am able to pick at a local scrap place that has a huge bin of brass from some of the local shooting places. I have to pay retail scrap prices, right now $2.50 a pound for brass. 100 round of .223 costs me around $3. It's not worth me sorting it, then having to deprime and resize, trim and ship for what you guys posted links to. $5 - $7.50 per 100 depending on headstamp isn't worth my fooling with it.. I hate seeing it all go to scrap though. Glad I didn't pay $125 for a bunch of brass I couldn't sell.
