One of my calling rifles (bushmaster Varminter) wears a Burris Signature Select 4-16x44 with an illuminated Ballistic Plex Reticle. I agree with the field of view answers but I have never had an issue with this scope on the low end power for field of view. Colorado is much like Wyoming and more than once I have been thankful for the higher end magnification on that coyote who hangs up way out there.
My Tikka T3 Varmint .204 is getting a Burris Extreme Tactical 6-24X50 30mm tube with the Mildot ballistic plex reticle. I will do some calling with this rifle but it will double as a Prairie Dog gun so I wanted the higher end magnification and the big target turrets. The low end on this one is a little higher than I like for a calling rifle but thats why I carry a Shotgun in my lap, for the close in work.
