What's your favorite hog trapping bait?

If you throw that on the ground in some areas of Oregon, you're likely to just catch a biggie sized, single mother with a car load of trophies. Maybe we could get a hog swap started between Texas & the Pacific N.W.

I make my own bait. salt, sugar, Strawberry syrup and cooking oil. makes a ton and cost aroung 10 bucks. Pour a little over corn and bang bang

Negative on that Sir! If you think we have a lot of hogs down here you'd be shocked at the amout of indivduals you just described like that right here. Also, no matter how cheap of beer your soaking that corn with that's a waste. If you want something that's got the smell just sour that corn in a covered bucket with the corn and water for a couple of days. Personally if you'll just bait them long enough with corn they should be easy pickings once you set the trap.

flyfishthtex,

not a big beer drinker myself, (and you'd never see me pouring out any JD), had a friend tell me this so I tried it with a 1/2 rack of cheep beer and a 5 gallon bucket, seemed to kick start the souring and brought them in a little faster to a cold stand,

any more its grape coolaid and corn and give them a week or so to find it

HA! Some counties you could get arrested doing that to JD(booze abuse)! I'm purely speaking from not trying to attract them but just eliminate. I tagged one yesterday evening with the Edge, it's a bit too much muscle for a 60 lb'er but its a hoot to light one up with a 300 gr acccubond.
