In AZ, the AGFD Commission approves coyote seasons and methods of take at their public meeting each April. There are several different coyote seasons in AZ and all have unlimited bag and possession limits.
Currently, the general firearms season is from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
There are daylong seasons (shooting allowed 24 hours per day) in game managememtn units with antelope from March 1, 2013 to May 31, 2013. These seasons focus killing coyotes when they are denning to minimize predation on antelope when they are having their fawns.
There are also shotgun shooting shot only seasons for metro units since hunting is allowed within city limits. Those seasons are set from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
The AGFD Commission will decide whether to continue or make changes to these seasons and methods of take at their public meeting in April. Keep an eye on what the AZ Game and Fish Dept proposes to the Commission with hunters using night vision equipment. My hunch is there maybe suggestions to the Commission to make using night vision illegal. It is currently OK. I have not been on top of this to know for sure.
