Where to buy dykem?

Dykem is layout fluid that machinists use it is commonly referred to as "layout blue" or "layout red" an industrial supply house for machinists or welders should have it. Happy hunting!

Mark if those supply houses dont carry it, try Grainger, thats where I get it.

Has anyone tried it on a sealed beam spotlight. I have a sealed beam that I like, but it will melt a red lens. Any suggestions? I will probably just use the Maxmillion with red lens, but am worried about it draining the truck battery.

After looking a little closer, isn't the Brinkman Varmit Special a sealed beam? It has a red lens. Does the hood prevent the lens from melting? Maybe I can use a red lens on mine if I can make a hood to get it farther from the bulb?

Yellowhammer, I use sealed beams only and have no trouble at all using the dykem red layout fluid.

If your lite does'nt get to hot a clear red plastic disposeable dinnerplate or glass works great I like it better than dykem. Sort of hard to find except around christmas.Had my dinner at christmas then promply took a scissors and started cutting out lenses.They easily fit right in with my clear lense and at the end of the season I get my clear lite back .
