You guys who are using the cree lights,, the ones that are onl costing 20 to 30 bucks. Where are you gsatting them (link please) and how far can you scan with the red one and pick up eyes?
Thanks Daryl P.

It is adequate for a shotgun. Eyeballs at 150 yards but actual animal identification at 60 yards or less.

It does come with everything you need to get it set up onto your gun though for $28 total. Not a bad deal at all.

I still prefer my Olight M20 Crimson by far, but this link is plenty sufficent as well.

It is the light found at this link. http://www.dinodirect.com/ultrafire-501b-flashlight-cree-led-red-light.html I bought it new from ebay for $10.99

I hunted a field last night that as I walked in I noticed eyes across the field. They shined back bright and clear. I could make out the outline of the animal but could not identify it with that light. It was a bright moon lit night and the distance was around 125 yards. To identify, I turned on my XLR250.

As a scan light for the pennsylvania woods/fields, it works very well and I would say I could easily pick up eyes out to 200 to 250 yards. (Although this has not happened yet, I just got the light about a month ago)

Take that for what it is worth.

Earnest do a search for Noxx lights. I have the red hand held and the red headlamp. I haven't got to try the headlamp out in the field yet but the red dagger is awesome.
